Mission Statement
Love Puerto Rico Golden Retriever Rescue, Inc. is an all-volunteer organization which is devoted to providing a second chance at life to surrendered, abandoned and neglected Golden Retrievers and Golden Mixes, regardless of their age and/or health.
We provide intervention, veterinary care, and foster homes with private families and boarding facilities. The Goldens we rescue are adopted both locally and via partner rescues throughout the United States. We are dedicated and passionate about placing dogs in loving, responsible and committed forever homes.

Why Help Goldens from Puerto

Puerto Rico is a US Commonwealth that is in an economic recession. Due to the recession and lack of education on spay and neuter, there are somewhere between 250,000 to 300,000 stray or abandoned dogs in Puerto Rico.
Dogs do not last long in shelters due to the overwhelming numbers - euthanasia rates are close to 90%. Dogs in the streets frequently die of malnutrition, neglect or through accidents with vehicles. |
